Formations of high-powered military aircraft are buzzing the city at very low altitude, rattling windows, setting off car alarms, making dogs bark and babies cry. All the residents of the city have stopped what they are doing and are in the streets, glued to their windows or are up on their roofs scanning the horizon waiting for the next attack wave to go sweeping by. It is impossible to tell what the attack's objective might be, but the demonstration of military power dominating our beautiful and peace-loving community can only be described as intimidating and disruptive.
At a time when America's defenses are stretched so thin, could it be a perfect time for an enemy to take advantage? Like on 9/11 when the response to hijacked aircraft was slow and ineffective, allowing the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon to succeed, could some foreign, hostile power now be unleashing its wrath on one of America's most liberal and beautiful cities?
